Thanksgiving

Life has been a blur since we got home from Florida.
We celebrated Thanksgiving last weekend and it was awesome.
After a busy week of traveling it was nice to be at home as a family.

I love Fall and Thanksgiving!
One of my favourite things to do is to look for our pumpkin.
We started our trip with Starbucks, of course,
then bundled up and headed to the pumpkin patch.

We met up with my Bestie and her little family,
in search of perfect pumpkins.
We wanted pretty looking ones,
while the  Daddy's were focused on what would make the coolest face.
We settled on a large round pumpkin, and a tall skinny one.

Strom's is the cutest little pumpkin farm.
They had so many choices and lots of great photo areas.
I can't believe how the girl is growing, 2012= 3 ft Tall!

Later that evening we headed over to my parents house for Thanksgiving dinner.
As always my Mom's table looked lovely!

,

The cousin's were excited to see each other,
and ran around yelling with delite.
We eventually turned Mickey Mouse on
and taught them the art of "out of sight, out of mind"!
They caught on quick!

Cousin love, they have an entire couch
and yet they choose to sit right on top of each other.

All and all it was a wonderful weekend,
We have SO much to be thankful for!

Days Like Today...

Today I woke up to this....

Lucky for me, my neighbour noticed and left a note on my door.  You working Mom's know what it's like.  You're running out the door, throw the little one in the car seat and completely forget to do your four point check before driving away.  Let's be honest, the last time I did a four point check is the day I took my driving test.  I did what every independent woman does, took a picture on my phone and sent it to the Mr.  When he told me I shouldn't drive I continued my brave independence by calling my Mom.  She didn't need her car today so the girl and I walked over and borrowed it.

Today I am thankful for neighbours who care, a hubby who laughs and fixes it when he gets home, and a Mom who is willing to help us out.

Thankful on Thursday....

I absolutely LOVE this commercial.  This little girl reminds me a lot of The Boss.  When I get her out of her crib each morning she is thrilled to be alive.  She jumps and squeals, so excited for the day ahead.  Don't you wish you popped out of bed like that?  I need a little morning java before I am that peppy in the morning but The  Boss' enthusiasam is definitely contageous.

I might try this one morning...not to the same extent but how much better would your day be if you started it by looking in the mirror and celebrating all the things you love about your life?  Give it a try and let me know how it goes!

Thankful on Thursday

Today I am thankful for...

A healthy Baby.  It's been a long couple of days but The Girl seems to be on the mend!

A Nana who is willing to nurse her grand baby back to health.  This week my Mom took The Girl so we wouldn't risk her getting sick while recovering from Scarlet Fever.

My Mom, Me and my Nana, can you guess where?

A Nanue (my Nana...the Great Grandbabies call here Nanue) who loves her Great Grandbaby so much and delivered flowers while she was sick.  What a lucky little girl.

For my Hubby's 5:00 am alarm.  That's right...5:00 am!  Hubby started a new job this week in Toronto which means he leaves the house at ten to six.  The night before his first day we picked a ringtone for his early morning wake up call together.  We chose "Today is the Day" by Lincoln Brewster.  There was something so appropriate about this song.  We are so grateful for this new position and the opportunities it will present.

Today is the day the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.
Psalm 118:24

Also, Happy Birthday to my Dad!

Holding my flowers while they loaded me into a car in the rain at my wedding.
Yes, it did rain on my wedding day, and no this is not his normal face...
a picture says a thousand words!
Love this guy to bits!

It's "Birthday Week" so  if the kiddies are all feeling better we will celebrate him on the weekend.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Today we are cuddling in bed,
watching the parade,
and deep frying a turkey for dinner!

Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family!

Today I'm Thankful For...

Yesterday I started my new job. And while I am still technically still on maternity leave the maternity leave I am covering started one month early.  So much for easing back into work.  After a thirteen and a half hour day I needed today to just relax and process a lot of what I learned yesterday.

When I woke up this morning to sunshine and a warm forecast, I called my sister and my favourite little people and we made a date.

Today I am thankful for...

Strollers with coffee cup holders,

Cousins,

Girl Parties,

and a sister I can call to spend the morning in the sunshine with!

Here's to the end of a great maternity leave with my sister, and here's to more babies and more playdates on our next maternity leave together...in a very, very, very, very, very long time from now!
