Change is good

I am so happy with my new blog design.  I have a few more changes to make but from what I can tell change is good.

A lot Happens in Nine Months

I just finished posting this on our family blog and thought I had to share it over here.

The Boss is a little over nine months old now.  Where has the time gone?  Nine months of pregnancy seems like the longest time with all the sleepless nights, backaches, swelling and just general uncomfortableness.  The days are long and the nights seem longer.  Then all the sudden Bambino is born and time sets into fast forward.  The last nine months have been the fastest and most fun nine months of my life.  Here is a picture of me nine months prego and here is a picture of me and the boss at nine months old.  Funniest part...we weigh pretty much the same together now that I did then.  Yes, I am still carrying the last 2 nasty prego pounds that I cannot get rid of...any suggestions?

To die for...

This closet is to die for.  First of all, I would love to have a dressing room rather than just a closet and how wonderful would it be if it looked this nice...
Style at Home
This dressing room belongs to Tommy Smythe, of Sarah 101 and featured in Style at Home this month.  For this closet he used PAX wardrobes from IKEA to create this customized look.  First they were sprayed the colour of the walls then door knobs were centred and secured on the outside of the door to allow clothing to hang when choosing an outfit.   The paint along with the knobs give a totally customized looked.  When featured on CityLine, he left the wardrobe white and added crystal knobs.  This gave a beautiful feminine touch.

Happy Weekend

This weekend we will be climbing, falling, standing, falling, and trying to take our first steps!  Check out these cute shoes I bought the Boss.  I picked them up at Walmart.  One of my girlfriend's little girls had them on and I thought they were precious.

They reminded me of these Locoste shoes my friends had in high school.  I think their's were different shades of green valcro?  I always wanted a pair.
Where will your feet take you this weekend?

Best Time of the Year!

No, I have not lost my mind...I know it's not Christmas, it's Roll up the Rim To Win!  All my Canadian readers can appreciate this but for those of you who don't know what I'm talking about it's exactly as it sounds.  When you've finished your coffee (or other hot beverage of choice) you roll up your rim to see if you won anything.  Prizes range from free coffees and donuts to cars, tv's and barbecues.

Mr. D and I are currently 0 for 5.  So sad!  Don't worry Tim Horton's invites all losers to "Play Again" and we will.  This time of year we drink more coffee then we need to just so we can roll up our rim!

*While I was posting this Mr. D called from work to tell me that he won on his morning coffee.  That puts him at 1 for 3 and me at 0 for 4.*

The Oscars

Last night we ordered Sushi and watched the Oscar's.  We were underwhelmed to say the least.  As per many of the reviews we found the show rather boring as a whole.

Since the Red Carpet is the best part, I wanted to show my Hits and Misses on the Red Carpet.

HITS
Firstly, Halle Berry...could she be any hotter?
These four all look great!  I loved that Hailee Steinfeld looked sweet and innocent in her ballerina inspired dress.  I am also in love with Gweneth's gold dress, she looked so chic in it.
Natelie Portman not only looked amazing, but also showed grace and elegance when she accepted the Oscar for Best Actress in Black Swan.  If I am ever prego again I will be borrowing this dress.  :)

Finally, Sandra Bullock's dress was gorgeous.  I love the colour and the cut...so flattering.  She does however bring me to my pet peeve of this year's Oscars.  What was with the hair?  Sandra Bullock's looked like she hopped out of the shower and put it in a bun. It wasn't even a slick bun, I felt like it  closely resembled my beach hair....

MISSES
Scarlett Johansson's dress was a great colour but I feel like her hair looked like mine when I try to put a wave in it myself.  It looked like it was falling flat due to humidity...that shouldn't happen to movie stars.
...and Amy Adam's hair also looked like the day after curls, when you brush your hair out and it's kinda frizzy.

I heard a magazine editor raving on one of the morning shows this morning that the actresses were trying to go for a more natural look this year.  I don't know about you, but I see natural everyday when I look in the mirror...I'm bored with it.  I want to see GLAM at the Oscars.
Who was your favourite???

The National Home Show

Yesterday Mr. D, the Boss and I attended the National Home Show in Toronto.  The show was a little overwhelming with over 700 different vendors.  We enjoyed walking around and looking through the model homes.
The Boss checking out the event guide.

One booth that I loved was the Urban Barn booth.  They have a number of stores across Canada and I love almost everything they sell.  They are currently running a contest called "Canada's Ugliest Furniture" which can be found on the Urban Barn Facebook page.  One of Mr.D's friends is a Bachelor and bought his first house 2 years ago.  When he moved in his parents gave him their old couch to use until he got around to decorating.  Since the couch is about 100 years old I entered it into this contest.  The funniest part...there are two other couches that look the exact same.  Check out their page and vote for the ugliest piece.
