Happy Valentine's Day

I know I promised yesterday that I would reveal the Mr.'s Man Cave, and my Valentine's date with him but as I was editing the pictures last night I realized I needed to take new ones.  I think that I was in such a rush to finish the room and take the pictures that most of them are blurry...I was moving while I took them?  Anyway here is a sneak peak....yes the drapes are orange, yes I painted them, and yes they ended up a touch too long (ugh).

In the meantime I want to wish my Mansy a very Happy Valentine's Day/Weekend/couple of days.  We celebrated just the way I like it.  At home, all day, spanning over more than just one day.  We each planned a date for the other person.  Mine for him was dinner with a "Gator"twist.  I made his favourite meal which we ate in his new Man Cave, and yes he was TOTALLY surprised.  Worth every second of work to make it happen.  He ordered wings, nachos and potato wedges.  After putting the girl to bed we ate food and watched the Toronto Maple Leafs game.  Yes, my Man knows me well.  I love spending time with him and eating "hockey" food in front of the game.

Happy Valentine's Day Baby!

Our Poor Baby

This sweet dolly has another ear infection.  I am telling you, spring cannot come soon enough in our house.  She was fevered for 4 days this time before we took her to the clinic.  She wasn't showing any symptoms, our doctor was on holidays and I was just really in denial.  Eventually Mr. D took her to the clinic where they diagnosed her 4th or 5th (I can't even remember at this point) ear infection of the season.  They said this isn't normal, so they are recommending we see an Ear, Nose and Throat Specialist.  In the meantime she is such a good little muffin.  I love her to absolute bits  and I am so grateful that she is her happy little self even with an ear infection.

Any Momma's out there have experience with this?  I would love to hear your thoughts and if this is something I should worry about?

This weekend Mr. D and I celebrated Valentine's Day (our week days are far to crazy).  I will share our Valentine's fun and our gifts tomorrow.   Have a Happy Monday!

Our Weekend...

As you might remember I recently got a new sewing machine, you can read about that here.  I am so excited to try a few new projects.  One of the top projects on my list is learning how to quilt.  On Friday my Mom and I visited a fabric and quilting store in town here where we picked up this book.  I absolutely love it.  While some of the patters are a little out of my league, there are a number that I was able to figure out.  The diagrams and explanations make it easy for even a beginner to follow along.  I spent some time this weekend trying a few new blocks (I'll try to post them later).    This same store also offers quilting classes...I am trying to arrange with Mr. D's schedule to start these classes at the end of the month.  In the mean time I have a sewing class later this afternoon to learn how to work my new machine.  So excited!

This weekend we also spent time relaxing, enjoying handmade ravioli at my sister and brother-in-laws and watching the Super Bowl.   We enjoyed lots of good food, football and visiting with friends.  What did you do for the Super Bowl?

Thankful on Thursday....

I absolutely LOVE this commercial.  This little girl reminds me a lot of The Boss.  When I get her out of her crib each morning she is thrilled to be alive.  She jumps and squeals, so excited for the day ahead.  Don't you wish you popped out of bed like that?  I need a little morning java before I am that peppy in the morning but The  Boss' enthusiasam is definitely contageous.

I might try this one morning...not to the same extent but how much better would your day be if you started it by looking in the mirror and celebrating all the things you love about your life?  Give it a try and let me know how it goes!

What She Wore...

A number of bloggers post weekly on what they wore.
I'm not going to lie,
I enjoy reading others, but feel a little in adequate at times.

The truth is, there are many times that I go out with The Boss and feel embarrassed.
She looks fabulous and I'm dressed like...a Mom.
Rather than deny her inner model, I thought I would embrace it.

Here's to The Boss and "What She Wore"!

Hat, H&M
Coat, Zara
Skinny Cordorys, Gap
Brown Boots, Target

Can we also take a moment to discuss my little poser? My goodness, who does this child belong to?
